John Hemphill's Obituary
John Frank Hemphill, age 82, went to be with his Lord on July, 23, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born September 8, 1934, in Magee, MS. and was the son of the late B.F. and Lacy Hemphill. He was married for 58 years to Doris Ann Hemphill who preceded him in death last year. He is survived by his two children Patricia A. Vaughan (Taylor) of Raleigh, NC, and John M. Hemphill (Mary) of Cordova, TN; his three beloved grandchildren Sarah, Taylor Jr., and Ryan Vaughan; and his brother George Allen Hemphill of Philadelphia, MS. He was a graduate of Brandon High School and Hinds Junior College in Mississippi and honorably served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired 1st Vice President and Manager at National Bank of Commerce Bankcard Division where he worked for over 30 years. He was a former President of the Memphis Area Lion’s Club. He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Collierville, TN, and was a resident of Germantown, TN. The family wishes to express it’s heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Germantown Plantation Senior Living Community in Germantown for their compassionate care during the last year. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the funeral to be held on Friday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m. All services will be held at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Covenant Baptist Church.
