John Marvin Harrison's Obituary
With a focus on all the good that God worked through John Marvin Harrison, it is with heavy hearts his family announces his acceptance into the Lord’s arms on March 10, 2024.
Born in Joiner, AR, John was the patriarch of his family and the leader of an uncountable multitude to God’s flock.
With his wife, Patricia Byers Harrison, by his side for 64 years, John was the captain of his football team at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR. He went on to earn a master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX.
John’s encouragement and positivity were a wonder to the ones that got to share in his life. Through John’s strength and intellect, God touched the lives of an uncountable many. John pastored for 70 courageous years in MO, AR, and TN. This service and John’s unwavering faith have borne God’s fruit, which the Lord alone is able to tally.
He was preceded in death by Mary and Emory Harrison, parents; Patricia Harrison, wife; Stacy Brown, daughter; and Henry and Shelton Harrison, brothers.
He is survived by David Brown, son-in-law; D. J. and Daniel Brown, grandsons; Sandra Alliston and Mart McGee, sisters.
The family invites friends to gather for visitation Sunday March 24 at 1:00pm with a Memorial service to follow at 2:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, TN 38119
