John Cecil Foppiano's Obituary
John Cecil Foppiano “Big Daddy”, 82, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Methodist Germantown Hospital. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, WW II Army veteran, worked for Bridgestone Firestone for 40 years and 18 years with Federal Express and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, who passed away July 15, 2008, Beatrice Irene “Toni” Foppiano. He leaves his daughter, Sandra Foppiano Walker and husband Lavelle Walker; stepson, Dewey Jackson and wife Faye Jackson; granddaughter, Laura Walker Solis and husband Richard Solis; two great granddaughters, Lauren Solis and Megan Solis. Visitation will be held from 5-7 Tuesday, January 27th with the funeral service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 28th, all being held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Main Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5415 Raleigh LaGrange Rd., Memphis, TN. 38134.
