John A. Fleming's Obituary
John Arthur Fleming, 59, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 4, 2013 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Johnston Fleming. He was born February 6, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Newdorp High School in Staten Island, New York and Memphis State University in Memphis. John was a member of Raleigh United Methodist Church. He was previously employed at Methodist Central Hospital. His last employment was Home Depot. John loved to hunt and dance. He leaves two sons, Johnny (Melanie) and Brian Fleming and two granddaughters, Madison and Isabel. He also leaves his father, William A. Fleming and step-mother, LaVerna Fleming and three siblings, Debra Fleming, Cheryl Fleming, and Chris (Cathy) Fleming. He also leaves his niece, Sara, and nephew, Zachary, who helped care for him. He leaves four additional nieces and nephews, Jamie (Stephanie), Kristen, Shawn, and Carolyn. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 7 at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
