John Carlo Croce, age 35, of Collierville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024. John was a graduate of Houston High School and received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi in Ox Read Obituary
During John's time at HUB L.A.,he became part of my sales team. He was actually more of a support person but he also wanted to sale. So, we spent many hours together working leads and John learning the business. Of course many hours were spent discussing the various college football games and his love to go back home and visit friends and family and"frat" brothers and then go and see the football game.
We did spend a lot of time talking about family, his and mine, and I felt I knew his family although I never met them. John would come to my house to celebrate some of the Jewish holidays, and truly my family embraced John. Similar age to my kids, so all had a great time and as we all know John was just as likeable as anyone could be.
He did want me to jump out of an airplane with him and asked me many times. I thanked him, but preferred to fly in a seat while being in an airplane.
I did get the occasional call after John moved back home. Usually when the Rams had a big game and he had some comment on what would play out during the game.
John promised that he would come to L.A. to visit, so now it will be a memory for me and the visit will be looking at some of photos we took together.
I will truly miss you John.

John started his career with HUB International in Chicago in the corporate training and call center. He was responsible for about 86 calls a day and was credited with the highest sale in his second year. Upon successful completion of the program, John was allowed to pick a HUB office anywhere in the country and we are fortunate that it was Los Angeles. Upon his arrival, he worked as a strategic resource manager with responsibility for the State of California. Quickly, he developed into our sales database manager and is widely credited with developing most of the dashboards that we use today. John later became our Sales Enablement Director of California with responsibilities for the entire pipeline, prospect and client databases, and sales result reporting. John was a contributor to the various sales meetings held throughout the State. He began accumulating a book of business which he managed himself as an account executive. He later moved to Hub Nashville as an account executive overseeing a book of business of property and casualty clients and to be closer to family and Ole Miss.
John knew every producer in California and what their favorite sports team was. He was very quick to compare the stats of Ole Miss to team in the country. He was also accused of wearing an Ole Miss football shirt to an insider’s event at USC and was singled out in the large audience by then coach Lane Kiffin, who was destined for Ole Miss. John took a stretch credit for recruiting. In his office you could find pictures of his weekend activities which mainly centered around jumping out of perfectly good airplanes as an instructor.
John loved his colleagues, his sports, and his airplanes and always had a smile on his face and a handshake for anybody who is willing to take one.
For John's 20,000 colleagues of HUB, will miss his friendship and enthusiasm.

Croce, was such a joy to teach in high school! I feel so blessed to have had him n class and hope I did him justice. I found my self excited when I went to the pickleball courts recently and I heard him say, “Mrs. Noble, it’s Croce. Let’s do this!” Meaning watch out opponents!
