John Fleming Boone, Jr.'s Obituary
John F. Boone, Jr. age 94, of Arlington, Texas passed away on March 8, 2022 at Arlington Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. John was born on August 31, 1927 in Independence, Missouri to John Fleming Boone, Sr. and Glenna Chrisman. He graduated from Blue Springs High School and in 1953 from University of Missouri.
John was a Veteran of United States Army. He was a Sergeant serving in the Army Airways Communication Squadron as a Cryptographic Technician. He received a WWII Victory Medal. He was retired from a long career in Farm Machinery Manufacturing with New Holland Machine Company. John enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.
On August 25, 1950, he married Barbara Jean Motter and they had four sons. After the death of his first wife, he married Lyndon Briggs Moore who brought two additional sons into the family. He was a member of First Christian Church, Arlington, Texas and member of Round Table Sunday School Class, Voyagers Serendipity and served as a deacon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Glenna Lou Boone, Pauline Boone Calvert and brother Jerry Chrisman Boone.
John is survived by sons, Bruce D. Boone (Jamie), Larry C. Boone (Joy), Richard "Rocky" B. Boone (Debbie), and Jeff Boone (Janet), stepsons, Mark Moore and David Moore (Debbie). Grandchildren, Amanda Boone Holmes (Kurt), Sarah Boone, Michael Boone, Elizabeth Boone Wheeler (Ben), Bryan Boone (Shelby), Brett Boone, Laura Boone, John Austin Boone, Jake Boone, Jenna McPherson, Tyler Moore (Taylor), Nathan Moore, Amanda Moore Volleman (John). He is blessed with great grandchildren Houston Wheeler, Reeves Wheeler, Grace Boone, Palmer McPherson, and Henry Moore.
Funeral Service for Mr. Boone will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 1:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The Boone Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 12:00pm until the service hour. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Funeral Cemetery.
