John Beyer's Obituary
John Beyer, 88, of Memphis, TN, passed away on April 22, 2018. John went to the University of Alabama and received a degree in Chemical Engineering. He joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in New Mexico. There he married his wife Alethea of 55 years. After the Air Force, they moved to Memphis in 1957. John obtained a law degree from the University of Memphis Law School in 1976. He worked for Buckeye Cellulose his entire career in Memphis. John enjoyed singing and was a member of Highland Heights United Methodist church choir. He was also an avid amateur radio operator and amateur wine maker. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25 and a service celebrating his life will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 26 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
