John Durell Adair's Obituary
John Durell Adair, 94, of Memphis, TN, went home to be with the Lord, on April 24, 2010. He was a longtime member of Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis and was a GM retiree as an instructor at the GM Training Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Beatrice Brown Adair, his son John Adair, Jr., and his daughter Betty Adair Turner Lenhardt. He is survived by his grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Drew and Nicole Turner and two great granddaughters of Olive Branch, MS, son-in-law Albert Lenhardt of Memphis, TN, his brother Hubert Adair (Virginia) Jonesboro, AR, nephews Jim Adair (Linda) and Ken Adair (June) of Jonesboro, AR, sister-in-law Marybeth Brown and niece Sharon Lewis of Little Rock, AR and many grand –nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Colonial Baptist Church with funeral services to follow. Committal services will be held that afternoon, at 3:00 pm, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis, or to The Betty Lenhardt Memorial Scholarship at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.
