Joe L. Rape, Sr.'s Obituary
Joe Lee Rape, Sr., 86, of Germantown, TN, died on June 5, 2012. He retired from Bellsouth, formerly Southern Bell. He was a member and Deacon for over 60 years, at Forest Hill Baptist Church. He was the Fire Chief of the Forest Hill Volunteer Fire Department from 1950-1972, and a Veteran of World War II, member of 196th Field Artillery, and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the AT&T Pioneers Club. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Rossbach Rape. He is survived by one son, Joe Lee Rape, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, MS; one daughter, Mary Jo King of Collierville, TN; one brother, Dillard Rape; three grandchildren, Joe Lee Rape, III, Charles Hugh Rape, and Rachel Barnett; as well as one great-grandson, Chase William Rape. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 7th from 5:00-7:00 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The funeral service will be on Friday, June 8, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
