Rev. Joe D. Littlefield, 78, of Memphis, devoted husband, father and pastor of 45 years passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009.He was pastor emeritus at White Station Baptist where he served from 1963-1997. He actively served on various committees and boards of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. He served on the board of Directors of Baptist & Reflector Newspaper. He participated in various functions with the Shelby Baptist Association. His other pastorates included serving in Middleton, TN, Cooper, TX, Beech Bluff, TN, and Savannah, TN. Rev. Littlefield graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary and Union University.He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Doris Ann Littlefield.He leaves his daughter Annette (Tommy) Gaines; two sons David (Cindy) Littlefield; Stephen (Denise) Littlefield, nine grandchildren, Bradford (Carrie) Gaines, J.D. Littlefield III, Jacob (Michelle) Romo, Walt Littlefield, Grant Gaines, Caleb Romo, Seth Littlefield, Elena Romo, and Haley Littlefield, and one great grandchild, Liam Romo. He also leaves a sister Jane Hughes.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at White Station Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., on Friday, July 24, 2009, at Memorial Park Funeral Home.The family requests that any memorials be sent to Union University Scholarship Fund in Jackson, TN or to White Station Baptist Church.
