Joe E. Hyatt's Obituary
Joe E. Hyatt, 88, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, after a long illness. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 at Eastside Baptist Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Louise, of 65 years; a daughter, Beverly; a daughter-in-law, Linda; one grandson, Stephen; and a brother, Roger of Conyers, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Hyatt; one son, Terry Hyatt; and two brothers, Roy and Hank. After finishing school, he attended welding school and worked for Pigeon Thomas Iron Company for 25 years and for CBI for 6 years. After becoming a Christian he served life as a missionary to the military. He worked at the Millington Naval Base for 25 years reaching many young men with the gospel of Christ. He had a Servicemen Center for 14 years where many young servicemen found a home away from home. We are grateful to the staff of Rainbow Health and Rehabilitation for the loving care he was given.
