Joann Chiles' Obituary
JOANN WINSTON CHILES, 82, of Memphis passed away on May 20, 2014. She was born on June 8, 1931 in Birmingham, Alabama to Eugene and Elsie Arnold Winston. She graduated from Memphis Technical High School in 1949, and she attended Memphis State University. Joann was a lifelong member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was active in several women’s circles, and the Women of the Church. She was also a life member of The International Order of the King’s Daughters and Sons. Joann was a successful real estate agent for Crye-Leike Realtors for many years. She was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club, as well as the Women’s Council of Realtors, where she served as President. Joann Is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Fleming L. “Sonny” Chiles, her parents, and her sister Mary Winston McConnell. She is survived by her children, Steve Chiles (Molly) of Aurora, CO, Suzi Starks (Billy) of Eastland, TX, Tim Chiles (Nery) of Memphis, and Lindsey Chunn (Ricky) of Hernando, MS. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23 from 5-7 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be at Second Presbyterian Church Chapel on Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
