Joan Creamer Luckett's Obituary
Joan Creamer Luckett, 79, of Memphis, TN., daughter of Jimmy and Virginia Creamer, passed away Thursday morning after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 58 years William R. (Billy) Luckett, their children William (Bubba) Luckett (wife Amy, children Brittany and Brad), Jamie Luckett (wife Lisa, children Lindsey and Madison), Leslie Luckett Perry (husband Billy, children Jordan, Will and Walker) and Ashley Luckett Parks (husband Billy, children Ava Grace and Ben), a sister Barbara Nash (Dr. John Nash), her niece Dr. Dana Nash and her sister-in-law Frances Luckett Pickering (husband Joe).Joan spent the last days of her illness surrounded by loving family and friends at her side. She was a strong, gentle, caring and loving wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother and aunt who loved nothing more than the company of her family and friends. She attended Snowden Elementary, Central High School (53) and Memphis State University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Phi. She was named Ms. City Beautiful in Memphis in 1954. She retired after a career as an Insurance Coordinator with Dr. Jim Albright. She was a much loved member of Grace Evangelical Church and enthusiastic fan of the Christian Brother’s High School basketball program.Visitation will be from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Friday evening, August 22, 2014 at Memorial Park, 5668 Poplar Ave, in Memphis. Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 P.M., August 23, 2014 at Memorial Park. The family request that any memorial contributions be sent to Grace Evangelical Church or Christian Brothers High School. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
