Dr. Joan Friedlander Dermon, 83, died on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Memphis TN. Joan is survived by her grandchildren, Dave IV and Ella, of Franklin TN. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Alice Friedlander, of Beth Read Obituary
I am so sorry for you and your sister’s loss, Dave. I dont know your grandmother or the circumstances but I do know the loss of a grandmother is always difficult in so many ways, no matter how long they lived. The closure of any chapter in one’s life is such an emotional time.

Jim and I are so blessed to have known Joan and Dave. We loved them as family and will cherish their memory. Joan was an amazing woman. She enriched the lives of everyone around her. She will live on in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We learned of her passing this morning.
Joan and Dave were dear and long-time friends. We shared many interests, including Dave’s and Joe’s collections, and often we enjoyed dining out together. Deepest condolences to Dave and Ella.
Joan was a big part of our life for fourteen years when we met up with Dave ll and Joan on a cruise. We have been on many cruises with them and they have toured Scotland with us. Joan continued to cruise with us after Dave ll’s death. With her professional knowledge and skill at listening and giving good advice she made a very good friend. We will miss her and all the fun we had.
Joan has played a very big part in our lives over the las 14 years. We have travelled the world together, sharing many happy memories and some sad ones. Her professional skills in councelling made her a very good friend to many people. Sincere condolences to her family and friends in America. Sending love from Scotland.
