Joan Albright's Obituary
Joan White Albright died suddenly on Saturday, January 8, 2011 from complications from a stroke. She was born on February 24, 1931 in Humboldt, TN to Mettie White Albright and Charles Wesley Albright, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Wesley Albright, Jr. of Huntsville, AL. Joan leaves a brother, Jere B. Albright, Sr. and wife, Marian of Humboldt, TN.; nieces: Cindy Albright of Memphis; Marian Harbin and husband; Jeff of Jackson, TN.; Karen Albright of Huntsville, AL.; nephews: Jere B. Albright, Jr. (Jay) and wife, Bonnie of Highland Park, IL; Charles Wesley Albright, III of Huntsville, AL. and great nephews, Will and Clay Harbin of Jackson, TN. She also leaves behind cousins Doralyn Lowe of St. Simon’s Island, GA.; Robert W. Gillmann of Birmingham, AL and his children, Robert W. Gillmann, Jr. and wife, Beth; Kristy Gillmann ; Katherine James and husband, Bill, Kim Pyron and husband, Jimmy, all of Atlanta, GA., and Cooper Collins and wife, Susan of Salida, CO. Along with her relatives, Joan will be greatly missed by many, many friends. After graduation from Humboldt High School, she attended Union University and Memphis State and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was employed by IBM in Nashville, New Orleans and Memphis and was the only female Advisory Marketing Representative in her department and truly the Southern, grand matriarch of her group. After retiring from IBM as a Client Representative, she worked for Econocom. After retirement, Joan was associated with the Woman’s Exchange until her death. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22 at 11:00am at the Church of the Holy Communion, where she was a member. Visitation will be at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to her church, the Woman’s Exchange or the Memphis Humane Society.
