Jimmy P Tucker's Obituary

Jimmy was born in Memphis, TN on June 6, 1948, to Bessie and Parvin Tucker. After graduating high school from Kingsbury in 1967 and a brief career with a local telephone company, he finally realized his life-long dream of becoming a law enforcement officer by joining the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) as a reservist in 1975. He proudly served in many capacities within the SCSO, including being selected as attendee at the 1988 FBI National Academy, retiring in 2002 as Chief Inspector. Never one to sit still, he continued working in various industries, including FedEx as a Corporate Security Officer in 2008 and retiring in 2013.
Jimmy had a variety of passions, from jumping out of planes, flying his ultralight, golfing, hunting, photography, running, cycling, and mountain biking at Stanky Creek trails.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Kathy Tucker with whom he shared 28 wonderful years of marriage; his children, Christine Tucker McPherson and Kevin Tucker; Kathy’s children: Julie Davis Hollis (Ben Hollis); Emily Davis Folk (Estes Folk) and Richard Davis; grandchildren Cecilia and Dylan Hollis; Humphrey Estes Folk V and soon-to-arrive Hoffman Davis Folk; brother, Stacy Tucker (Denise Tucker), along with several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Parvin Tucker, and brother, Eddie Tucker.
