Jimmie L. Harris' Obituary
Jimmie Lou Lantrip Harris, 98, passed away on March 20, 2025, just three days short of her 99th birthday. She was born in Lafayette County, MS. Mrs. Harris passed away at Brookdale Dogwood Creek Memory Care and was previously living at Brookdale Germantown Assisted Living and prior to that Glenmary Independent and Assisted Living on Parkway.
She was preceded in death by her husband Isaac Edward “Ed” Harris, Jr., on August 14, 2000 and one son, Mark Lantrip Harris, and one son in law, Richard William Lee McMahan.
She is survived by her children, Stephen “Steve” Edward Harris, Sr. (Mary Beth) of Memphis, TN, two daughters, Lynda McMahan Assink (Randy), of Ridgeland, MS, and Brenda H. Conner (George) of Forrest City, AR, five grandchildren, Elizabeth Harris Berglund (Gary) of Memphis TN, Stephen “Ed” E. Harris, Jr. (April) of Memphis, TN, Bradley “Brad” Harris McMahan (Kathryn) of Kernersville, NC, Carrie McMahan Wassilak (Eric) of Jackson, MS, and Luke Harris Conner of Memphis TN, one great grandson, Ethan Bradlee Wassilak of Jackson, MS.
Mrs. Harris’ visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church, 200 East Parkway North, Memphis TN 38112 or the charity of the donor's choice.
