Jim Wade was my friend and my neighbor. With his wife Debra, they made up one of the close knit families that lives over the shops at Suwanee Town Park. We call ourselves the ‘Park Dwellers’, and thanks to a large common area in the center of the condos, we often socialized as one big family. We were famous (or infamous) for our informal gatherings, often anchored by Jim and Debra and their energetic Golden Retriever, Piper.First, Jim would come out to catch some sunshine with Piper. Then in ones and twos, neighbors would pull up chairs and fetch glasses of wine as Jim regaled us with tales of travels and concerts he and Debra, and often Logan, had been to.On warm days, you could find Jim and Piper in a special place in the park. Jim on the phone; Debra on her computer; and Piper straining the reaches of her tie out to greet as many dogs and their humans as possible. As in our condo common area, neighbors would often bring their chairs, refreshments, and their canine friends, and a ‘pop up’ party would ensue. He loved Debra, his daughter Logan, and his Golden Retriever, Piper. He loved his mother, his brother, and all of their extended families. Our community is grieving the loss of our neighbor and friend. He kidded us, encouraged us, sympathized and empathized, and most importantly, made us laugh.I cannot be there today, but I’m sending love and prayers for Jim and Debra and all of their family and friends.Sharon Sparrow Suwanee, GA
