Mr. Jim Nicholson, age 76 of Collierville, Tennessee passed away on January 24, 2024.
He was born on January 24, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Eves Nicholson and Laverne Franklin.
James “Jim” Franklin Nicholson, age 76, of Collierville, TN, passed away on January 24, 2024.
He was born on January 24, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee. Jim, as he was commonly known, attended Treadwell High School in Memphis, TN, and received his bachelor's in business at Memphis State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He was also a proud Navy veteran, serving for 7 years, as well as a Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy Reserve for 25 years.
Jim was a purchasing agent for Bluestar Industries and retired in 2013. In his free time, Jim enjoyed hunting, riding his tractor at the cabin, spending time with his family, and studying God's word.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Nicholson, his sister Carolyn Feathers, and his daughter Kathryn Whitsell (Jason). He was also a cherished grandfather to 10 grandchildren, Ethan and Vivien Forrester, Clark and Charley Whitsell, Violet Nicholson, Linton Nicholson (Christine Nicholson), Austin Curtwright, Bryce, Braydin, and Lilliana Bass (Stephanie and Shauwn Bass), and a great-grandchild, Adilynn Curtwright (Austin and Ember Curtwright).
Jim was preceded in death by his son Bradley Nicholson and his mother Laverne Clement.
Contributions in Jim's memory can be made to The Calvary Rescue Mission in Memphis, TN.
Funeral Services for Jim will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:00am in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
