Jim Nail's Obituary
James (Jim) D. Nail went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the age of 93. Jim is survived by his precious wife, Estelle H. Nail, whom he had been married to for 63 years. He had three (3) children, Debra Drees (Fred) and Gary Nail of Memphis and Larry Nail (Ginny) of The Woodlands, Texas. He had four grandchildren, Natalie Waters (Rob), Lauren Drees of Nashville, Tennessee, Maggie Poe (Harley) and Emily Cruz (Andrew) of The Woodlands, Texas. He also had two (2) wonderful great grandchildren, Audrey and Eleanor Waters of Nashville. Jim graduated from Sunflower Junior College and then enlisted in the Navy and was a flight instructor in Millington, Tennessee. He went on to work for Sears Roebuck and Company and retired with them after 26 years of outstanding service earning many sales awards. After retirement, he continued to work with a small roofing company until 1994. Jim was very active in the Gideon’s Ministry and involved in church. His greatest passion was for Jesus and for everyone to come to know Him personally. Toward the end of his life, he asked a most important question to everyone that he met. The question was, “What does Jesus Christ mean to you, personally?” This one question is an example of a life well lived and an undying love that he had for his Lord, his family and friends and anyone he ever met! This was his legacy! The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Dr. Vincent Smith, his administrative assistant, Lynn and the office staff. Also to the Jones Clinic, Heather Starks and Demetria Williams of Baptist Home Hospice and the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville for their outstanding service and genuine love and kindness in their care of Mr. Nail. Visitation with the family will held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 12th with services at 11:00 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gideon’s, Lakeland First Baptist Church and The Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”
