James “Jim” Branson passed away June 22, 2018 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet Edney Branson, sons, John Branson and daughter-in-law Bonnie; and Robert Branson; step-granddaughter, Betsy and Craig Hagen; grandson Jack; sisters-in-law, Corinne Edney and Harriet Jobe, and several nieces and nephews.Jim graduated Central High School and UT Knoxville and served two years in the Army. He was a member of Collierville United Methodist Church and Open Door Class.Jim was the founder and owner of Branco Lighting, national sales manager of Day-Brite Lighting, Life member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, co-author of the IES “Design for Warehouse Lighting” and on the National Executive Committee of the National Electrical Manufacturer’s Reps Association.A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. with visitation following the service.
