My friend, Mary Gullett and I are disappointed that severe weather kept us from attending Jewel’s memorial service. As residents of Kirby Pines Estates, we always looked forward to having Jewel visit. I have known Jewel for many years, through membership at Berclair Church of Christ and her first cousin, and my best friend, Bertha Wren . Jewel was an excellent role model for the Christian woman. Her legacy is great and will continue through her charitable gifts and the wonderful family she leaves behind.
Her name was Jewel, but her family was her greatest treasure. Over the many years of our friendship she always shared some special story involving the accomplishments of one of her children or grandchildren. She was so proud of all of her family. Jewel was wise and kind and always a genteel Southern lady. What a great honor it has been to know her.

It was a pleasure to be exposed to such a tenderhearted and loving person via my employment. She never missed a TESCO Manager’s Seminar the 20 years I’ve been with the company. Mrs. Sisson made a point of speaking, shaking our hand, and/or kissing each of us individually every year. Always shared that loving smile and offered words of encouragement. She will truly be missed.
Always a beautiful lady! Her smile let you know she was happy to see you. She was remarkable with her service to others right up to the last! So many that went before were waiting to greet her again, especially her precious Pete.
Miss Jewel was the quintessential Souther Lady. A warm heart and a true kind soul. She welcomed people into her life and held her family close. We were truly saddened to hear of her passing. It is solace to know she is at peace with her Saviour.
