Jettie D. Bowen, Jr.'s Obituary
Jettie D. Bowen, Jr., passed away on February 21, 2018 at St.Francis Hospital Bartlett. Jettie was a graduate of Treadwell High School and Southwestern (Rhodes) College. He was retired from Schering-Plough, Inc. after 34 years. An active member of Bartlett United Methodist Church, he served many volunteer hours and in leadership positions. He loved all sports and coached both boys and girls teams. He was a TSSAA official for many years. In his retirement years, Jettie always enjoyed being on a golf course and working in his roses. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed the friendships of many, he leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Glenda Bradford Bowen and his children Julie Bowen of Arlington, TN, Jay (Cristy) Bowen of Senatobia, MS and Glen (Lori) Bowen of Oakland, TN, his precious grandchildren, Ashleigh, Katelyn, Todd and Reagan Bowen and his sister Rev. Martha Bowen Wagley of Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26th from 1-2pm with the funeral beginning at 2pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Bowen’s name to the Bartlett United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 5676 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN 38134.
