Jessie Dean Gordon's Obituary
Jessie Dean Gordon, 86, of Memphis, TN, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017. Mrs. Gordon was a longtime supporter of Ole Miss Athletics and Academic Programs, where she started the John K. and Dean S. Gordon Academic Scholarship Fund. She was a Board Member of the Holy Angels Parent Group. Mrs. Gordon was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband, John K. Gordon. She is survived by two daughters; Vivian D. Tyler Cole (Bruce) and Shirley Ann Cooper all of Memphis, her beloved stepchildren; Ruth Gordon White (Johnny) of Lookout Mountain TN, Maryelinor Gordon Mays of Chattanooga TN, and William Colbert Gordon of Shreveport LA, six grandchildren; Troy Matthews, Cooper B. Bailey, Philip Matthews, Shelley Dean Cooper, Rachel White, and Joel White, and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gordon is also survived by one brother; Travis Selby of Marks MS, and two sisters; Nancy Harrison (Jack) of Marks MS, and Patricia Beacham of Batesville MS, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral arrangements are 2 p.m., Thursday, February 16, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
