Jesse (Ray) Mauldin's Obituary
Jesse Raymond (Ray) Mauldin passed away at home on Thursday, December 17, 2009. Raymond was born in Tippah County, Mississippi, on April 20, 1919, to Jessis Hugh and Mary Esther Mauldin. He lived in Walnut, Mississippi, and moved to Memphis in 1938. A veteran of World War II, he sered in the 13th Air Force for 3 1/2 years, mostly in the South Pacific. Raymond retired as District Sales Manager of Heavy Truck Sales after 31 years with Ford Motor Company. He belonged to the Lions Club and Memphians for America for many years and was a longtime member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Mr. Mauldin enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and traveling. In his lifetime he visited all 50 states and several foreign countries. Raymond loved his family and leaves behind his devoted wife of 64 years, Emma Lee Mauldin; daughters, Mary Lee Henderson and Linda Tucker (Sully); five grandchildren, Carrie Henderson Chiaro (Mark), Jay Henderson (Brooke), Catherine Henderson, Mary Beth Tucker, and Michael Raymond Tucker; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lerlene Pulliam of Lebanon, TN, and Annettee Rippee of Memphis; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Doris Anyan, wife of Aubrey Anyan. Visistation will be Saturday, December 19, at 11:30 am with services to follow at 1:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s United Mehtodist Church, 480 S. Highland in Memphis or to Methodist Hospice, 6400 Shelby View Drive, Suite 101, Memphis, TN 38134.
