Jess David Ewing's Obituary
Jess David Ewing, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at BaptistMemorialHospital in Memphis, TN. Mr. Ewing was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran and started his legal career in the partnership of Rupert & Ewing and later in the partnership of Ewing, Jamieson & Miles. He also served as a U.S. Administrative Law Judge until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Ewing attended St. John’s Episcopal Church. He was a member of Episcopal Church Men’s Club, Civitan Club President, member of the Experimental Medicine Review Board, University of Tennessee Medical School, and Chairman of Trezevant Manor Grounds Committee. Mr. Ewing was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Ruth Reed Ewing; parents, Thelma Alice Goshen and Thomas Ewing; sister, Myrtle Hughes; and a brother, Raymond Ewing. He is survived by his daughters, Paula Reed Ewing and Deborah Ann Ewing Townsend (Darrell); sister-in-law, Charlene Ewing; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Church Townsend Ecker (Brandon) and Sarah Ewing Townsend. The family will receive friends Monday, November 14 from 10 a.m. until the service begins at 11 a.m. at Trezevant Manor, St. Edwards Chapel, 177 N. Highland Street. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Trezevant Manor Foundation.
