Jerry William Siano's Obituary
Jerry William Siano, 81, of Memphis, died October 26, 2017, after a brief illness. Born on February 2, 1936 in Chicago to the late Anthony Emilio and Annunziata Caliendo Siano, Jerry moved to Memphis with his family he was 16 years old. Throughout his life, he traveled to Chicago at every opportunity to reconnect with friends, family and his beloved Chicago Cubs. He was a life-long Frank Sinatra fan. Possessing a strong work ethic, Jerry started his first business, Mid-South Foods, in 1966. He introduced Slim Jims, Beer Nuts, ricotta cheese and other products to the Memphis market. The company grew and eventually became Jerry Siano Foods. In recent years, Jerry was the owner of Performance Plus Motorcycle Specialists. Jerry was truly an entrepreneur. Over the years, he was involved in many business ventures and owned and developed commercial and residential properties. He was respected as an honest and fair businessman. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Edna “Bitsy” Aikens Siano; brothers, Ralph A. Siano and Patrick A. Siano; and his seven children, Tony (Lisa) of Blue Mountain, FL, Tom, Jim (Betty), Patrick (Susan), Maria Siano Turman, Marvin (Trish), and Becky Siano Billings (Thompson), all of Memphis. Jerry leaves behind 14 cherished grandchildren, James (Lizzie), Matt, Allison, Natalie Siano McCloud (Josh), Nicholas, Louis Davidson, Jerry “J.W.” Turman, Joseph Turman, Ben Turman, Geno, Gabriel, Kathryn Dacus, Kamryn Dacus, and Peyton Billings. He also leaves his six wonderful great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. A visitation will be held 5-8 p.m., Monday, October 30 and funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 31 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
