Dr. Jerry Shenep's Obituary
DR. JERRY lynn shenep, 60, passed away peacefully at MD Anderson on July 26 with his family at his side after a valiant seven year battle with multiple myeloma and AML. He was born in Memphis, TN on October 7, 1951. Jerry attended Rhodes College and Vanderbilt School of Medicine. He was the Chief Medical Information Officer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and a Professor of Pediatrics at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He was listed on the Best Doctors in America for Pediatric Infectious Diseases from 1998 – 2012. Jerry was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Shenep and his twin daughters Lori Elise Shenep and Melissa Anne Shenep. The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Bart Barlogie at UAMS, Dr. Earl Weeks and the staff of Integrity Oncology, and Dr. Hagop Kantarjian and the staff at MD Anderson Hospital for their excellent care. The family would also like to express special thanks to our St. Jude family for all their love and support. The family will receive friends Monday, July 30 from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
