Jerry Hunter's Obituary
Jerry Wayne Hunter, 75, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012. He had been a member of Broadway Baptist church for 43 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1955. He was owner of Lynn Whitsett Corporation. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Ann (Grant) Hunter and his parents, Burl Lamar Hunter and Doris Juanita Skelton Hunter. He was survived by his children, Grant (Perrin) Hunter and Shawn (Catherine) Hunter; grandchildren, Kyle, Cooper, Duncan, Ann Mason, and Walker Hunter; brother, Burleigh Hunter; and sister, Glenda Bazyari. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, all being held at Broadway Baptist Church, Southaven, MS. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, TN. A reception will follow services at the home of Jerry Hunter. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Arthritis Foundation, 5352 Estate Office Park Drive, Suite 1, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.
