Jerry Helms' Obituary
Jerry Wayne Helms "Bubba" was born on October 30, 1951 in Houston, Ms. He became an angel on June 10, 2020. He died of natural causes doing something he loved, playing with his pups. Jerry's early years were mostly in Jackson, Ms where he met his wife of 30 yrs while both were working for BCBS of Ms. He attended Wingfield High School and later graduated with a banking degree from Ole Miss. He moved to Cordova, TN in 1989 to work for International Paper. He also worked for Computer Associates, Allen Systems Group and Prozgroup. He was a Senior IT Specialist and held many titles during his career. He was recently working on a new endeavor which was a dream he had for many years. After connecting with colleages, old and new they created a company called GREEN OCEANS TECHNOLOGY. He was to be the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Company Operations. Jerry loved and nurtured all things, people animals and nature. He is preceded in death by his mother and step father, George and Rubye Martin;his sister,Judy Anne Helms;and his youngest daughter,Julie Helms Littleton. He is survived by his wife Emylee K. Helms; Daughter Jennifer Helms Coker; her children,
Deven and Savannah; Granddaughter, Kaylee Hays Littleton (Julie's daughter) of Southaven, Ms; His sons, Joshua Brown and Jacob Helms both living in Cordova,TN; His sister, Lynda Grice (Steve) of Puckett, Ms;his brother, Roger Helms (Erin) of New Orleans; and his nieces and nephew. There will be a memorial service at a later date in Jackson, Ms. For those wishing to express sympathy we ask that contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, which Jerry had long supported.
