Jerry Eason's Obituary
JERRY DONALD EASON went home to be with the Lord, September 11, 2011 after a long battle with leukemia. A life-long Memphian, Jerry was born June 18, 1931, the only child of J.D. and Millie Eason. Before graduating from Memphis State College, Jerry served his country as a member of the United States Air Force Reserves. Afterwards, Jerry began a thirty-year career with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Upon retiring from Firestone, Jerry was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for sixteen years. An active member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Jerry was involved in various volunteer ministries, served as an usher, and was a faithful member of the Family of Friends Bible Class. Jerry leaves his wife, Ann Perry Eason; sons, Steve (Martha) Eason and Scott (Leisa) Eason; stepdaughter, Carol Ann Perry (Jody) Ogilvie; stepsons, Billy (Leslie) Perry and Jonathan (Angie) Perry; seven grandchildren, and a host of friends including life-long friend, Betty Jo Cole who was like a sister to him. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, and the funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, all at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Forest Hill Irene Road. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or Bellevue Baptist Church Missions.
