Jerry Berry's Obituary
Jerry Berry passed away at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family on April 24, 2009 after a long illness. Jerry was born on October 20, 1940 to Clarence Berry and Vera Mae Petty Berry in Scottsboro, AL.Jerry graduated from Nicholas Blackwell High School in Bartlett, TN. Jerry was a member of the American Banking Institute and was retired from First Tennessee Bank as a Data Specialist.Jerry was loved by all who knew him. He loved photography. He was known as the ‘Horse Fly’ by his friends because he loved riding horses like the wind. He loved spending time with his family and friends.He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Bishop and a brother, Charles W. Berry.He leaves his devoted and caring wife, Sharon Berry of 42 years, two sons, David Michael Berry and Stephen Edward Berry and his wife Dana. Dana Wilkinson Berry has been the daughter we always wanted. Jerry also leaves his brothers, Aaron Berry of Collierville, Thomas Berry of Lebanon, Eugene Berry of Bartlett and Paul Berry of Birmingham.Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 pm, Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, April 27, 2009 in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Interment will follow funeral services at Memory Hill Gardens located at 3700 Germantown Rd., Memphis, TN 38133.The family would like to say special thanks to Crossroads Hospice for all the care and kindness they provided Jerry.In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are to be made in Jerry Berry’s name to Family Community Church located at 6896 Highway 70, Bartlett, TN 38133 or Crossroads Hospice.
