Jerry Lewis Ables' Obituary
Jerry Lewis Ables, 78, of Collierville, TN went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2021. Jerry died 2 days short of his 79th birthday after a hard battle of multiple chronic diseases. He was born in Memphis, TN to Lewis Spoon and Dorothy Willis on December 4th, 1942. Jerry proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and enjoyed sharing his love for his country with others. He retired as a foreman from the Shelby County Road Department after 30 years of dedicated time. He also loved sharing about his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Lou Ables, his siblings Glen Ables, Margaret Culperson, Chuck Ables and James Ables, his children, Katie Kretzschmar, Barbara Ann McWilliams, stepson Shawn Kelley, stepdaughter Heather (Clayton) Floriani; grandchildren Robert Kretzschmar, Chris Kretzschmar, Shannon Ables, Jessica McWilliams, Brandon Ederds, Felicia Hamm, Christina Ederds, Jack Kelley, Wyatt Kelley, Brett Kelley, Mia Floriani and Edie Floriani, and great grandchildren that he dearly loved.
The services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. The visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 1:00pm with the Memorial Service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
