Jeremy Sean Scruggs' Obituary
The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained. Jeremy Sean Scruggs was born on October 8, 1976 in Memphis, TN to Judith Anderson Scruggs and Thomas Wesley Scruggs. Jeremy passed away on December 27, 2018.Jeremy graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1995 where he had an outstanding athletic career lettering all four years in football and was a member of the basketball team as well. Jeremy continued his football career as a fullback and leading rusher for the University of Memphis. His family fondly cherishes Jeremy’s passion and love of sports. One of the family’s most celebrated moments was when Jeremy made significant plays during the 1996 game winning drive against the University of Tennessee. Jeremy assisted his team to victory with a score of 21 to 17 in front of a record-breaking crowd of 65,000 fans.Jeremy is survived by his daughter, Lea Rosemary Scruggs; his father and stepmother, Janie and Thomas Wesley Scruggs; his sister Wesley Scruggs Wade (Matt); and nephews and niece, Andrew Wade, Anna Kate Wade and Adam WadeVisitation will be held Tuesday, January 1 at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 1:00-2:30 p.m. with an Interment service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Rotunda.In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to Christian Brothers High School at 5900 Walnut Grove Rd.
