Jenny Lind King's Obituary
Jenny L. King left this earthly home on December 27, 2022; she was born January 28, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee to Fred and Beatrice Mathis. Jenny was raised in several cities but called Houston home, she attended and graduated from Lamar H.S. graduating in 1955. She then attended University of Houston.
She married Joe Rich in 1956 and they had three beautiful children together. She worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a service representative for more than 20 years. In her spare time Jenny enjoyed getting to visit with family and friends, planning get togethers, eating and having fun. She really loved having time with her Beta Sigma Phi Sorority sisters. Traveling different places, reading and crafts. Everyone will remember Jenny as a giving and caring person.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harvey Dale King; mother, Beatrice Ussery Mathis; daughter, Karen Rich Metcalf.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Larry Rich, Kathy Amyett, and step-daughter, Kathryn King; grandchildren, Brandi McFarland, Will Rich, Jenny Vargas, Laura Suelberg, Violet Metcalf, Robert Miller, Jason King, Josh Blankenship, Joe Blankenship, and Elaine Barnes; great-grandchildren, Joseph Rich, Nelson Argueta II, Elijah Vargas, Ashlee McFarland, Weldon Stites, and Mia Blankenship; great-great granddaughter, Athena Rich; cousin, Kay Ivy, and many other family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 21 at 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. all in the Riverside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.
