Lt. Jeffrey Todd Norman's Obituary
Jeffrey Todd Norman, age 51, of Lakeland, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, July 19, 2022.He was born in Memphis, TN to Kenneth and Shirley Norman of Heber Springs, Arkansas. He graduated from West Memphis High School in 1990 and attended the University of Central Arkansas.
Jeff served with the 164th Aerial Port Squadron of Tennessee Air National Guard for 28 years and earned the rank of Master Sargent before retiring. He served multiple tours of duty overseas and in the United States, including 2 tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
In 2002, he joined the Memphis Fire Department. In following years, he moved up to the ranks of Driver and Lieutenant. “Dirty Red”, as he was known was assigned to Engine 14, Truck 9, Engine 39, Engine 38, and Engine 10 during his career. He received the Life Saving Medal in service to the citizens of Memphis.
In his free time, he loved watching sporting events, especially his Arkansas Hogs, cooking, traveling, and running but most of all spending special time with his family. His family was everything to him. He and his family were members at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN.
He is survived by his wife Ashleigh Odom Norman and his son Parker Bennett Norman, his parents, Kenneth and Shirley Norman, as well as his brother Keith Edward Norman and his wife Rachel Burchfield Norman, and their children Jackson Norman, Emma Norman, and Evan Norman. His sister in law, Gretchen Stacy Brown, and her children, Caden Phillip Brown and Sarah Bailey Brown. His mother in law, Sally Cauthen Odom, and his late father in law, Phillip Nolan Odom.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Bellevue Baptist Church, 2000 Appling Rd., Cordova. Lt. Norman’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Bellevue Baptist Church with honors to be rendered at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis.
