Jean Lyons Roberson's Obituary
Jean Roberson passed away at her home in Maryville, Tennessee, on Thursday, May 31. Jean will be remembered as a loving and caring wife to her recently deceased husband Conon Roberson, the love of her life. Jean and Conon had been life long members of Union Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis until they moved to east Tennessee a few years ago to be closer to Conon’s daughter, Linda. Sadly, Linda and her husband Eddie Childress both perished in an auto accident three years ago. Jean is survived by her son, Dr. Charles Vincent Lyons, Jr., who was at her bedside as she passed. She is survived by her beloved cousins Joyce Todd and Judy Darmstaedter. Stepson Michael Roberson also mourns her passing. Michael’s children, Jean’s step grandchildren, were adored by her and include Amanda and Christopher Roberson, Shana and Brian Roberson, Abigail Roberson, Jackie Roberson Walton and Josh Walton. Great grandchildren are Noah Roberson, Reagan Roberson, and Makenzie Walton.Jean enjoyed traveling, and in her last years had the opportunity to visit with Conan’s family in the UK. What fun she had! Stan and Jackie, Carol and Glenn, and their children showed her around in high style. She so enjoyed herself, and was forever grateful for their many kindnesses. She enjoyed the casinos, and was an astute gambler, always leaving the machine when her bucket was full of coins. She was a great lady, and we will all miss her.Visitation will be Sunday evening at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with services there at 1 PM on Monday.
