Jean P. Oliver's Obituary
Jean Perkins Oliver, 96, of Memphis, TN walked through the gates of heaven on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
Jean was a well respected member of Whitehaven society, serving on several social and academic committees, often volunteering her time for the greater good of the community.
Jean loved her church, Macon Road Baptist and listening to Pastor Wayne Webb and Pastor Kevin Robinson, recounting many sermons which spoke directly to her heart.
She cared deeply for her family, leaving behind two daughters, Susan Bates (Guy), and Marion Carson, one granddaughter, Lisa Booker (Chris) and twin grandsons, David and Ryan, whom she spoke of to anyone who would listen and who filled her heart with pride and joy.
Jean was adventurous and relished travel, especially on her Harley Wide Glide. But her true passion lay with interior design. A successful business woman, she owned several interior design stores in Destin FL, where she was known for her unique and bold style. If you visited a condo in Destin during the 80’s and 90’s chances are she decorated it.
Jeans vibrant and uninhibited disposition created an impact on those around her. Her ability to capture attention was exquisite. She delighted in fun and laughter. Her fearless and fiery character will be remembered always- as Jean Oliver lived her best life.
The visitation will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Tails of Hope Dog Rescue in remembrance of her beloved canines Sturgis and Moki.
