Jean and her family moved to Memphis where they became founding members of St. Louis Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy where she was selected Most Attractive of her senior class. Next, she held down the most difficult job of her working career, raising four boys that were born in a 6- and 1/2-year span. Jean retired from Allenberg Cotton working in Human Resources.
Jean Jean, as she was known by her family, was always a selfless caregiver for her family. She always took on the responsibity of taking care of a sick or dying member of the family. Jean Jean loved doing everything with her family, cooking, holiday's, Tigers basketball games, and especially traveling / vacationing. For those of you who knew her, she never missed a daily mass until her health would not allow her to go. She also enjoyed messing around in her gardens, and watching her bird feeders through her sunroom windows.
We would like to thank everyone who made Jean's final wish come true, to spend the end of her life, peacefully at home.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 26 at 12:30pm followed by a memorial service at 1:30pm at St. Louis Catholic Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Where Memphis comes to remember, since 1924.”
