…love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things endures all things. I Cor. 13:7Carolyn Jean Allen Holland passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 18, 1935. She graduated from Central High School and attended University of Houston.She was a loyal friend to many, a loving parent, grandmother and great-grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. Carolyn’s constant wit and humor brightened the life of all those blessed to know her. She will be dearly missed by countless friends and family.After being a homemaker and raising her four children, she became an avid antique quilt collector, respected quilt appraiser and with her husband owned “The Quilt Lady” shop in Tiptonville, TN while living at their nearby lake house. During her life she was a school teacher and was heavily involved with the Memphis Neighborhood Watch. She loved gardening for many years had a voracious passion for reading her entire life.She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 54 years, Barry W. Holland.She leaves four children, Suzanne Jeannine Hanson (Donnie), Barry (Bo) W. Holland, Jr. (DeeAnne), Katherine Elaine Holland and Lydia Lucille Keadle (Todd). She leaves four grandchildren , Jeremy Thomas Webb, Kaitlyn Janae Webb, Zachary Allen Holland and Hannah DeeAnne Holland and one great-grandchild, Genevieve Nicole Webb (Evie).She was preceded in death by her parents, George E. Allen, Sr.and Thelma Jean Allen. She also leaves a brother, George E. Allen, Jr. (Janice). She leaves her nephew and nieces,, Matt Allen, Sherry Allen and Cyndi Allen.Visitation will be 12:30-2:30 p.m., April 5,2014 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with the Service immediately following at 2:30.If a donation is desired, it may be sent to the National Diabetes Association.
