Jean Marshall Breedlove's Obituary
Jean Marshall Breedlove, 84, passed away August 5, 2014. She was born on June 12, 1930 to Lora Perry and James Glen Marshall. She was very active at First Baptist Church of Memphis, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was supportive of the various youth, adult, and women’s ministries of the church. She was also active with The Coterie and the Salvation Army Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and watching sports of all kinds, specifically: the St. Louis Cardinals, Memphis Grizzlies, and the University of Memphis Tigers. She never met a stranger and loved her friends like they were family. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Wooten, of Indianola, MS; son, Len Breedlove, of New Orleans, LA; granddog, Sadie Wooten; sister, Ruth M. Carroll; brother, Perry Marshall (Catherine); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband of 63 years, Randy Breedlove. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. and funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, August 8 all at First Baptist Church of Memphis. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that donations be sent to the First Baptist Church Choir Fund or Rachel’s Kids, Inc., 2486 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38112.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, ” Behind the Stone Wall”.
