Jay Jones' Obituary
Jay Jones, 86, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013. Jay was born December 2, 1926. He was raised in Greene County, TN. He was an Army Veteran, and served as a Military Police officer in Germany after World War II. He was a Gideon, and a faithful member of Bartlett Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN. He had retired from the Shelby County Health Department where he was an X-ray Technician and a mobile health screening manager. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 in the chapel of the Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Priest, Pastor of Bartlett Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, at the Memorial Park Funeral Home. He is survived by his son, Jeff Jones (Jan Holden) of Bartlett; four grandchildren – Emily, Caleb, Ellie, and Ensley Jones; one sister – Mary O’Sullivan; three brothers – Ross Jones, Don Jones, and Lloyd Jones and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Norma Kilgore Jones and sister, Betty Stallings. Pallbearers will Caleb Jones, Patrick Holden, John K. Holden, Bobby Young, Brett Gehrs, and Tuley Lynch.
