Jasper Franklin Holmes' Obituary
Jasper Franklin Holmes (Frank) died unexpectedly yet peacefully in his sleep on December 28, 2015. Frank was born in Memphis on December 7, 1934 to Dr. and Mrs. William Curtis Holmes. He graduated from Central High School and was a distinguished Military Graduate of Virginia Military Institute in 1957, and received an MBA from University of Memphis. After serving active duty for 7 years, he continued in the Army Reserve completing 28 years of service and attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was the former commander of the 306th Field Hospital (400 bed). He retired from Kimberly Clark Corporation after 30 years. He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Charlotte Holmes. He leaves his wife of 58 years Anne Stauber Holmes; daughter, Catherine Holmes McKnight (Rick), Brentwood, TN and sons, Kenneth C. Holmes and Andrew F. Holmes of Memphis; grandchildren, Mary Christine Maddox (Miles), Jeffrey H. McKnight (Julie), Bradford T. McKnight, K. Curtis Holmes, Michael A. Holmes, and Mary E. Holmes. He also leaves his precious great-granddaughter, Charlotte Anne Maddox. He also leaves dear family members: sister in law, Lane Driscoll; nephew, Larry Heathcott (Kim), Jack and Laura Heathcott. Frank attended Faith Anglican Church. He was devoted to his heavenly Father, and he served others in God’s name in many ways. He loved to travel the world and every state in the USA with the exception of Hawaii to which he was planning in the near future. He especially loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting with sons, grandsons, and his hunting buddies, or simply watching a beautiful sunset with the wife he has loved for so many years. Frank will be missed by so many whom he loved well. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until his funeral begins at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 31 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
