Jason Yancey Hodge's Obituary
Jason Yancey Hodge, local Memphian, living in Nashville, died peacefully in his sleep with his loved ones by his side, Sunday morning at 2:30am. Jason, who grew up in Memphis, attended school at ECS, and later received a Bachelorʼs degree from the University of Memphis in marketing. He worked in the restaurant industry at several local places such as Swankys, Corkeys, and PF Changʼs, where he started lifelong friendships and created unforgettable memories. After he graduated college, he began his career in construction sales for Steve Ward and Associates, in Memphis. He was soon promoted to the Nashville office to take over that growing territory. One weekend, while attending, his cousin’s wedding in Tampa, Florida, Jason met the love of his life, Lisa-Marie and the rest is a beautiful history. Jason and Lisa were married in November of 2015 and settled in East Nashville. They began building a life of love and friendships. Jason valued his God, his family, his relationships, his music, his art, and his love for cars, just to name a few. People often remember him for his wit, his humor, his ability to command a room, and his unwavering loyalty. He was larger than life. He was hospitable. He was hilarious. He was honest…. too honest, sometimes. He would give you the shirt off his back, the master suite in his home, or the candy in his pocket. Whether you experienced his generosity first hand, or not, without a doubt, no one will ever forget how he made them feel.Jason is survived by his loving wife, Lisa-Marie, and his playful pup, Stanley. He also leaves his parents, Barry and Vickie Hodge, siblings Joanna Hodge Goforth(Joey), Jonathan Hodge(Shaun), and grandmother Doris Hodge. Jason’s special bond was shared among his nieces and nephews, Ella, Seth, Lily, and Charlie (Joey and Joanna), Colby and Hayden (Jonathan and Shaun). He is also survived by parents-in-law, Werner and Nancy Eckstein, and brother-in-law, Fabian Eckstein (Kaitlin). Jason left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved. Through our faith we know one day, we will see him again. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 15 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with the funeral service to be held Thursday, August 16 at 10:00 a.m. All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
