Jason Stuart Dennis' Obituary
Jason Stuart Dennis, June 10, 1974 - April 15, 2023
Jason Stuart Dennis, 48, of Moscow, TN, died April 15, 2023. He grew up in Memphis, TN, son of James Edward Dennis and Julia Kathryn Owens Dennis and grandson of Dr. Gastor B. Owens and Martha Owens of Morrilton, AR, Gladys Owens of North Little Rock, AR, and Cecil and Lucille Dennis of Memphis, TN.
Jason spent his early childhood at Grace St. Luke’s Episcopal School, where he had many happy memories. He graduated from Kingsbury High in 1992 with not only a diploma but also a vocational certificate in music recording and sound engineering. Music was his life-long passion as both a fan and a professional. One of his music assignments was the White House for Independence Day. Throughout his life, he carried his White House pass as a memento.
A second constant in his life was a love of cars that he inherited from his father. The two of them enjoyed watching auto racing together, and later Jason became a master mechanic for Mercedes Benz. As a truck driver, Jason logged over a million miles without any accidents. His travels took him to all 50 states as well as Canada.
Jason's love of the outdoors had its roots in his Buffalo River fishing trips with his grandfather and his star-gazing with his mother. When Jason found his 16-acre paradise in Moscow, TN, he felt like he had come home to those childhood memories. His companions on the land were his dog Ziggy and his cat Twitter.
Jason was a loving son to his parents, whom he visited often in Memphis, TN, and Millington, TN. He and his mother enjoyed dining at local restaurants where they traded stories about their love of nature and of animals. They had plans to see the eclipse together in Arkansas in April 2024.
Survivors include his parents, stepmother Judy Dennis, of Millington, TN, aunt Rosemary Owens Brenner of Harrisonburg, VA, and cousins John Owens of Little Rock, AR, Richard Winget (Dalores) of Warwick, PA, and Jim Winget (Jodie) of Ormond Beach, FL.
