Janice Shubert's Obituary
Janice Sullins Shubert Born October 21, 1925 in Memphis, Tn to Doris and Howard Sullins, Janice grew up living in many cities due to her father’s job with General Motors. After time in Alexandria, La., Los Angeles, Ca, St. Louis, Mo., and Indianapolis, Indiana, she called Detroit, Mi home from age 11 until she attended Michigan State University at age 18. Janice and Dick had 54 loving and devoted years together enjoying dancing, symphonies, Memphis State basketball games, and traveling throughout the US, Canada, Asia, South America, and Europe. Janice enjoyed volunteer work all of her married life. She was a member of the King’s Daughters, the Duration Club, Symphony League, the Community Bible Study, the Woman’s Exchange, and the Salvation Army Auxiliary, but found the greatest joy and fulfillment in the service in her church. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for 64 years teaching vacation bible school, Sunday school, and volunteering wherever she was needed. She was instrumental in forming Lydia Circle and the Mission Closet, which she dearly loved.
