Janice Fitzpatrick's Obituary
Janice Cross Fitzpatrick, 92, of Germantown, passed away on June 19, 2018. She was born on January 20, 1926 in Algood, Tennessee to Herbert (Red) Cross and Julia G. Cross. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Roy Fitzpatrick (d. 7-15-2001), her son, Alan C. Fitzpatrick; and Virginia Cross Maxwell (sister) and Melvin Maxwell (brother-in-law). Janice is survived by her daughter-in-law Beverly Fitzpatrick Black (Jim), Grandchildren: Amy Craven (Bill) of Hudson FL; Kevin Fitzpatrick (Ann) of Battle Grove, WA; Jason Brasfield (Bethany) of Hot Springs, AR; Kevin Brasfield (Valerie) of Hot Springs AR; Great-Grandchildren: Dylan Padgett, Emily Brasfield, Adeline Brasfield, and David Brasfield. She is also survived by her close family, Susan Maxwell, Jason Hinds, and Oakley Hinds all of McMinnville, TN. Janice and Roy were long-time residents of Memphis.She retired as a teacher at Germantown High School where she taught many business classes. She loved traveling, having dinner parties with her friends, and going to University of Memphis Basketball games. She was a member of Germantown United Methodist Church and the Lamplighters Sunday School Class for many years.The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, June 22, 2018, in the Parlor at Germantown United Methodist Church. The Memorial Service will follow in the Sanctuary at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Rick Kirchoff will be officiating. The family offers their gratitude to the caring staff and nurses at the Village at Germantown where Janice lived for over 13 years, to the staff of Crossroads Hospice and to her many friends. The family requests that all Memorials be made to the Lamplighters Class at the Germantown United Methodist Church, or to the charity of their choice.
