Janet A. Moore's Obituary
Janet Ann Moore, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away surrounded by her loving family, devoted caregivers, and sweet nurses at The Village of Germantown.
Born in Oklahoma on August 8, 1936, Janet lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. She met her husband, Jim Moore, in the sixth grade, and their relationship blossomed into a loving marriage of more than 65 years. Together, they built a beautiful life, traveled the world, and shared a love that remained steadfast through every season.
Janet was known for her friendly nature, quick wit, sharp intellect, and boundless love for her family and friends. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—cheering on Oklahoma Sooners football, passionately supporting the Dallas Cowboys, and rarely missed any tennis tournaments. She cherished her TV Weekly, watching movies (she knew EVERY actor/actress), riding her three-wheel bicycle, and looked forward to having dinner with her treasured "Appaloosa Girls”.
Even in her final days, Janet's loving and joyful spirit remained strong. On May 31, 2026, Janet, surrounded by her family, reunited with the love of her life, Jim Moore and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Janet leaves behind her three children: Jackie Moore Klindworth and her husband, Fant, of Memphis; James T. Moore, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Chattanooga; and Jamie Moore DeBerry and her husband, David, of Germantown.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Casey Jo Moore and her fiancé, Fletcher; Emory Klindworth McCabe and her husband, Dallas; and James T. "Jake" Moore III, and his girlfriend Haley.
Janet's legacy lives on through the family she adored, the friendships she cherished, and the countless lives she touched with her warmth, humor, and generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A private family only service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Janet to The Village at Germantown Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or the Church Health Center.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Where Memphis comes to remember, since 1924.
