Janet Darden Collins' Obituary
Janet Darden Collins, 53, passed away the morning of October 9, 2010. Mrs. Collins was born on March 27, 1957 in Memphis, TN. She was the younger of two children. She graduated from Wooddale High School in 1974. She was previously a respiratory therapist and cardiology technician. During her life, she was actively involved in various charitable organizations, including Make-A-Wish. Jan was a very out-going person who never met a stranger and her interests included spending time with family, pets, and friends, traveling, fine dining, and supporting the UT Vols. Mrs. Collins is survived by her husband of 25 years, Dr. Ross E. Collins, Jr; two daughters, Mary Morgan, 23, and Mallory, 22. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Joe Darden; and niece and nephew, Chelsey and Christian Darden. She was preceded in death by parents, Mary Kathryn and Jack Darden. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12 and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 13 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
