Janell Smith's Obituary
Janell Smith, 70, passed away June 1, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. She was a devoted sister and aunt. Janell was preceded in death by her mother, Eulene White, and sisters, Betty and Terri White. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Malnar; 1 nephew, Bryan White; 1 niece, Michelle Heck (Delbert); and great-nieces and nephews, Chris, Amanda (Chris T.), Nathan, Lilly, Lynn, and Zara. Janell was well loved by her family and considered the “matriarch”. She was a long-time employee, for over 50 years, of the Hilton Corporation. There will be a graveside service for Janell, on Saturday, June 9, at 1:00 pm. At Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 12:30 pm and will all go to graveside together at 12:50 pm.In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to your choice of the fund raiser site, Go Fund Me, listed as Fight Like Heck for her niece Michelle Heck who is fighting throat cancer, or The American Cancer Society.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
